Inactive ingredients include lanolin, cocoa butter, petrolatum, beeswax, salicylic acid, cetyl esters, paraffin, flavor, and vanillin, all working together to moisturize and protect the lips from dryness and irritation.

Apply a small amount of Carmex to your lips as needed, especially before exposure to sun, wind, or cold. For cold sore relief, apply to the affected area up to 3–4 times daily. Use clean fingers or an applicator to avoid contamination. Not recommended for use on children under 2 years of age unless directed by a doctor.
